Electric Potentials for Point Charges

Highlights

"emf" stands for electromotive force. This describes the potential difference across two plates or ends of a battery. It's units are also in Volts [ V .] The symbol for emf is denoted with a rounded looking capital "E." Like this, . At this point in physics emf can be substituted for potential difference, V.
